GENERAL CONDITIONS

1. TERMS AND CONDITIONS

When contracting the services of UNIC TRAVEL BOLIVIA, the following general conditions will be accepted, either when it is contracted directly or by some intermediary. The following conditions may not be ignored by any means.

2. SERVICE CONTRACT

 A service contract with UNIC TRAVEL BOLIVIA is initiated only if a confirmation document has been issued. This takes place after UNIC TRAVEL BOLIVIA receives the corresponding request from the client and the full payment of the accepted quote.

3. QUOTES OR RESERVATIONS

 Quotes and reservations are made in detail as requested, but take into consideration that sometimes for operational reasons we reserve the right to change the order of activities in the itinerary or route. These changes will be informed in due time and indicating the corresponding reason.

The detailed price is per person and includes everything established in the itinerary. It does not include personal expenses, taxes, gratuities, telephone calls, or any other service not specified in the itinerary, these will be considered extras. The prices are based on the rates at the time of the contract and they may be modified if there is a variant in the prices of transport, accommodation and services involved or the exchange rate. Also, they can undergo modifications in holidays like being Christmas, New Year, Carnival and others.

a) Modifications made by the client

 UNIC TRAVEL BOLIVIA will do everything that is possible if the client needs to modify something after having confirmed the reservation and / or quote, always subject to any surcharges.

b) Modifications made by UNIC TRAVEL BOLIVIA

UNIC TRAVEL BOLIVIA reserves the right to totally or partially alter the planned itinerary, schedules and excursions, for unpredictable reasons of force majeure or imponderables such as geographical features, strikes, climatic factors, road conditions, authority regulations. These changes will be for the better development of the tour and without altering the duration of the excursion)

If the trip has to be extended beyond the terms fixed by climatic causes, unforeseeable event, unenforceable force majeure and reasons beyond the organizers control and / or transport companies, the expenses that originate will be covered by passengers.

UNIC TRAVEL BOLIVIA acts only as an intermediary agent between the service providers: Air, land, fluvial, lake, maritime, lodging establishments, restaurants and any other service provider. UNIC TRAVEL BOLIVIA is not responsible for delays or cancellations caused by force majeure or any cause that is beyond its control, such as an event of nature, cancellations and / or modifications of flights, change of itinerary or other.

UNIC TRAVEL BOLIVIA and its suppliers are not responsible for en-route accidents, robberies, losses, illnesses, assaults, etc. It is always recommended that before traveling passengers take out travel insurance.

4. TRAVEL INSURANCE AND DOCUMENTATION

The transport during the excursions counts with the SOAT insurance (Obligatory insurance of traffic accidents)

UNIC TRAVEL BOLIVIA requires that passengers before leaving their country take out travel insurance; otherwise they must inform UNIC TRAVEL BOLIVIA in order to provide them with insurance at an additional cost.

All the adventure sports services do not have insurance coverage, so UNIC TRAVEL BOLIVIA is detached from any type of responsibility.

During the trip, all passengers must be in possession of valid documents such as passport, visas, vaccines, or any other type of documentation required by the competent authority.

UNIC TRAVEL BOLIVIA also declines all responsibility or rejections that the authorities could make to the presentation of the documents. The expenses incurred as a result of this cause will be responsibility of the passenger and in these circumstances the conditions established for cancellation and voluntary abandonment of the services shall apply.

It will be the responsibility of the passengers the condition and or expiration dates of the documents that are used to travel. Also, it is the passenger’s responsibility for visas for foreign passports or identity cards for residents and permits for minors traveling alone or with parents.

5. RISKS

All clients must be in good health conditions to participate in all physical activities that are necessary for the particular service contracted. If any client has any questions, please consult UNIC TRAVEL BOLIVIA, so that we can advise on the service to hire.

6. MINOR’S POLICY:

In the services provided by UNIC TRAVEL BOLIVIA, it considers:

  • Infants from 0 to 2 years old do not pay, sharing everything with the parents.
  • From 2 to 10 years have a special rate depending on the service. Request a quote.
  • 8 years and above pay adults rate.

In the case of lodging, the policy that each hotel manages according to its conditions is maintained.

7. AIRPLANE TICKETS:

Airlines only consider reservations for 24 hours, so to not lose space we suggest proceeding with the immediate issuance.

Tickets must be pre-paid in full to be able to make the issuance. Therefore, is important to get the full details of the passengers: names, nationality, passports and dates of birth.

After the issuance, any change or cancellation have a penalty according to the policies of each airline.

8. RIGHT OF CONDUCT:

The company reserves the right to make a passenger leave the tour, if the traveler who for any reason ( behavior, health status, etc.) will be a nuisance to the other members of the trip at the company’s judgment and could spoil the success of the trip. The passenger will not have the right to reimbursement of the corresponding services.

9. LUGGAGE:

The luggage is not part of the service contract they are the sole responsibility of the passengers, disclaiming any responsibility to UNIC TRAVEL BOLIVIA.

10. RESPONSIBILITIES:

UNIC TRAVEL BOLIVIA contracts services from various independent suppliers that are not under its control, therefore the company will not be responsible for death, personal damages or losses caused by acts or omissions of these suppliers, or any other event of which it has no direct control.

Each service, tourist package and / or program, that UNIC TRAVEL BOLIVIA outsources, has its own policies of cancellations, refunds, payments and others. These may also be subject to specific conditions. Therefore, UNIC TRAVEL BOLIVIA will be released from any responsibility in this regard.

11. PRICES:

Prices may be subject to modification by UNIC TRAVEL BOLIVIA, even though there is a written confirmation, for the following reasons: Modification of fuel prices in Bolivia; alteration of taxes related to the services quoted; increase in tickets and / or services provided and / or controlled by the state (museums, ruins, others); and an increase in supplier rates. UNIC TRAVEL BOLIVIA will honor the rate quoted and confirmed only for prepaid services, except for airline tickets.

12. PAYMENT METHODS:

Bank transfer and/or other electronic procedure. These types of payment can be used taking into account that there will be bank charges for the transfer. These costs must be assumed by the client. For more information, consult with one of our sales executives.

13. CANCELLATIONS AND RETURNS:

The tour, package or excursion may be canceled at any time taking into account that a written notification must be sent. The following scale will apply to cover administrative expenses and services pre-paid by UNIC TRAVEL BOLIVIA:

GROUPS:

If the cancellation is received 6 days before the date of the first service, the refund will be subject to a penalty of 30% of the total cost of the tour, package or excursion (except services in Uyuni).

If the cancellation is received 5 to 3 days before the date of the first service, the refund will be subject to a penalty of 50% of the total cost of the tour, package or excursion (except services in Uyuni).

No refund will be made if the notice of cancellation is received 2 days or less than the date of the first service.

In the case of No show, 100% of the rate will be charged.

INDIVIDUALS:

If the cancellation is received 3 days before the date of the first service, the refund will be subject to a penalty of 30% of the total cost of the tour, package or excursion (except services in Uyuni).

If the cancellation is received 2 to 1 days before the date of the first service, the refund will be subject to a penalty of 50% of the total cost of the tour, package or excursion (except services in Uyuni).

No refund will be made if the notice of cancellation is received the same day.

GROUPS AND INDIVIDUALS:

No reimbursement may be made for air tickets that have been issued as part of the tour, package or excursion.

During high seasons, UNIC TRAVEL BOLIVIA reserves the right to modify its cancellation policies, in the event that our suppliers apply additional penalties to those already mentioned above.

14. CANCELLATIONS AND UYUNI RETURNS:

HIGH SEASON (September to April)

If the cancellation is made 45 to 30 days before the start of services there will be a penalty of 35% of the total cost of the tour, from 29 to 15 days before the start of services, the penalty will be 60% of the total cost of the tour. If the service is canceled between 14 to 0 days before the start date, 100% of No Show will be charged.

Salt hotels request the prepayment of the accommodation 48 after the reservation is made; in case of cancellation this prepayment has NO refund.

THE REST OF THE YEAR

GROUPS:

If the cancellation is made 30 to 15 days before the start of services there will be a penalty of 35% of the total cost of the tour, from 14 to 7 days before the start of services, the penalty will be 60% of the total cost of the tour. If the service is canceled between 6 to 0 days before the start date, 100% No Show will be charged.

INDIVIDUALS:

If the cancellation is made 10 to 8 days before the start of the services there will be a penalty of 35% of the total cost of the tour, 7 to 3 days before the start of services, the penalty will be 60% of the total cost of the tour. If the service is canceled between 2 to 0 days before the start date, 100% of No Show will be charged.
